AIS Volunteer Needs for October 2005

This document is a work in progress. The PO is currently working toward developing a unified database of all school-wide volunteer activities, but not all parent associations are represented at this time. Our goal is to have all volunteer needs and opportunities consolidated soon. Please find details about Ensemble, Amigos and other associations highlighted in this month’s Globetrotter.

Event: WorldFest

Date/Time: October 30, noon to 5 p.m.

Location: AIS Field / Plaut Plaza

Shift(s)/Time Commitment: Day of event, 1 to 3 hours

Event: Fall Book Fair

Come help sell books! We need 6-8 volunteers to plan / promote events for the book fair, work with teachers, and help children select and purchase books.

Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct. 25 - Thursday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Library

Shift(s)/Time Commitment: Days of event: Set up, 7:45 to 8:15 a.m.; Break down, 4 to 4:30 p.m.; Cashier, 8 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m.; Assist children, 8 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m.; PR week before event / week of event, hrs. variable

Event: Spirit Wear/Welcome Café

Volunteers needed to help with morning coffee sales and lunch/snacks in the afternoon. A regular commitment to daily or weekly hours would be helpful.

Shift(s)/Time Commitment: Mornings, 8 to 11 a.m.; Afternoons, noon to 4 p.m.

Event: Front Desk

Need approx. 20 volunteers to manage the front desk at main entrance of school. Volunteers must commit to a fixed daily / weekly schedule as training will be required.

Location: Main Entrance to School

Shift(s)/Time Commitment: Monday through Friday, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., shifts will be a minimum of 2 hours

Looking for volunteers to help with weekly shelving / straightening / repair of books. A regular commitment to daily or weekly hours would be helpful.
